Hassan II Mosque visiting hours in 2026
Hassan II Mosque can only be visited during the fixed official guided tour times. Five slots daily Saturday through Thursday, only three on Friday. Different hours during Ramadan.
Official hours outside Ramadan
Outside the Ramadan period, Hassan II Mosque offers five guided tours per day Saturday through Thursday. On Friday, the day of the great weekly prayer, only three tours are organised to avoid disturbing the midday service. Each visit lasts 45 minutes to 1 hour and gathers an average of 30 to 80 people per slot (up to 150 in high season).

Which slot to choose?
We have tested each slot multiple times over the past two years. Here are our conclusions:
9:00 slot: the quietest
This is the slot we recommend in priority. The mosque is almost empty at this hour, the lighting is soft, guides are available to answer questions, and you come out around 10:00 to chain with the medina or the Habous quarter. Downside: you have to be up early if you are on a short layover.
10:00-11:00 slot: balanced
Attendance gradually rises, but remains manageable even in high season. Natural light is better in the prayer hall (sun passes through the roof openings). This is the favourite slot of organised groups and tour operators.
12:00 slot: avoid in summer
This is the most touristy slot because it chains with lunch on the corniche. In July-August, the heat in the basement ablutions room becomes oppressive. Prefer the morning slots.
15:00 slot (14:00 in Ramadan): for sunset light
In autumn and winter (October to March), the 15:00 slot coincides with the golden sunset light that brings out the zellige tiles and marble beautifully. The prayer hall is sublime at this hour. In summer, however, the 15:00 slot falls in peak heat.
How much time to allow in total?
Allow 2 hours of presence on site: 15 minutes of waiting before the slot, 1 hour of visit, 15 minutes to retrieve shoes and circulate through the ticket office, 30 minutes to enjoy the esplanade and take your photos at leisure. If you want to visit the civilisations museum, add 30 minutes.
For a short Casablanca layover (4 to 6 hours), lock in the 9:00 or 10:00 slot to have time to chain with the medina or the corniche before heading off.
What if I just want to see the mosque from the outside?
The esplanade around the mosque is freely accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for free. No dress restrictions or time constraints. This is where the most beautiful minaret photos are taken, especially at sunset or at night when the green laser beam points to Mecca. But you will see nothing inside without joining the guided tour.
Frequently asked questions
The official guided tour lasts between 45 minutes and 1 hour. It covers the main prayer hall, the ablutions room, and the underground hammam. Allow 1h30 to 2h total including waiting time, esplanade photos, and the shoe-collection queue at the end.
